The ancient origin of Moscato was introduced to the colonies of Magna Greacia by Greek colonists. There are several varieties of Moscato, the white being the most precious. From the South of Italy, this wine became widespread during medieval times due to the Venetians and their trade and commerce. The aromatic grape is scattered through virtually all of our country. The name derived from Muscum,or Muschio meaning moss. The wine is very sweet and good for withering.
