Cantine Ca' Baradei Cabernet Franc

This grape is native to the Gironde region in France but it has been widely cultivated in our area since the nineteenth century. It was favoured by farmers for its high yields compared to the Cabernet Sauvignon. Known for early harvesting, having a good sugar content and a low level of tannins. Its distribution was and is mainly concentrated in the areas that followed the path of the Piave river; place comprised of stony clay soil. Some say that this grape variety is a descendant of Carmenere due to its prominent herbaceous notes.

Description

Sensory Notes

The color is ruby ​​red with purple shades, among the aromas emerge notes of peppers and black pepper along with notes of blueberry, currant, raspberry and strawberry. These bold flavors stand out, including a herbaceous taste or that of hay. The wine is well structured and persistent, herbaceous notes stand out on the nose and on the palate. It is round, warm and bold, with a medium body.

Pairings

Cured meats or red meat dishes, roasted or grilled. Also pairs well with seasonal cheeses.
